Re: Blackpepper's Dyno Tested CMR Tune - Pics/Videos

which manifolds intake or exhaust?? They both help and make a big difference. Having a free flowing exhaust should be the first step.

Re: Blackpepper's Dyno Tested CMR Tune - Pics/Videos

Hahaha you got jokes!!!

I really want to read a write-up or two to see what needs to be done because I've decided that the majority of shops around here are too incompetent to try this on their own.

Re: Blackpepper's Dyno Tested CMR Tune - Pics/Videos

I've been getting a CEL for a long time due to running really really rich at idle and making a "10% correction" at 60mph... so I went down to Ditos Motors and they noticed that at idle the Jeep was making a 20% correction, adding tons of fuel and the Jeep kept thinking that there was a problem so the CEL kept coming on and to top it off, I've noticed that performance has suffered as of lately.

At the shop we did some data logging, took it for a drive and was able to replicate all the problems. So once we returned, Rob (the owner) went to his computer program and revised my CMR tune for me via a spreadsheet with lines and lines of code that he went through for about a half hour while sitting in the Jeep with the Predator connected. After he finished I drove home and I don't get any surging (when too much fuel was being added) and the tune feels right again.

I guess he manipulated the PCM more to decrease its ability to intervene with the CMR tune. It honestly feels a lot better and I still don't get any hemi shudder.

All this was done free-of-charge although I did offer him money for his time, he refused. Anyone in the Bay Area go to Ditos Motors for any type of work on your vehicle from oil changes to lifts to dyno tuning, this is the place. I'm very happy that I found it.

Re: Blackpepper's Dyno Tested CMR Tune - Pics/Videos

It's really important to note that if something is off with your closed loop fueling- which then affects the adaptives- which then skew your open loop fueling....

I have stressed for months the importance of datalogging, even if it's as simple as real time AFR. The more logging capability, the better your tune will be. With all the heat and humidity out now, alot of guys with big cams that haven't spent much time on their tunes, neglecting to minimize the fuel trim %'s are having problems with surging now.

Get the part throttle tuning down, then work on WOT fueling.......

FWIW I'm not ripping on Ditos or Blackpepper/Ryan in any way, I'm just re-emphasizing a point.

Re: Blackpepper's Dyno Tested CMR Tune - Pics/Videos

Surfrman - Sorry bro I have no idea what you're talking about.

Ryan - No you're right I need to do something about it and they agreed too.. I just need to data log for them. I haven't gotten around to it. Dito recommended that I do exactly what you've said (partial fuel and WOT), but to re-work the tune I have to pay for more dyno time and I'm not in the rush for that right now so I just have Diablo's canned tune in and I wasn't having any problems with that but recently now the 91 canned tune is throwing a code (P 013A) so lately I've been running the 87 tune... any input as to why the Jeep is now rejecting the 91 tune?
