Bwoody CAI... and rain?

Alright, so with all the shitty weather we have been having over the past few days in RI, I started to think about my newly added CAI.

How many of you guys with the Bwoody CAI actually use your jeeps in the rain? I know some of you have other cars to chose from, but my Jeep is my DD.

So, has anyone had any problems with water? I have the drycharger on it, but I am just paranoid for the moment.

Re: Bwoody CAI... and rain?

Dont worry about it. I had a 3.5 Woody on my 5.7 Jeep and I used it in all types of weather. I had the drycharger on it and even when it rained, I had no problems. I went through puddles and I had no issues. Just dont go through tall standing water.

The people that hydrolocked must have gone WOT through the puddle or something. I dont understand how they did it.

Re: Bwoody CAI... and rain?

I don't have the drycharger on mine and I drive in all sorts of weather (Jeep is my DD at the moment)

I avoid puddles though

Re: Bwoody CAI... and rain?

theres no way to water in your intake unless the entire end of the thing is under water.

try sucking water up with a straw with only half of the end under water, its impossible.

Re: Bwoody CAI... and rain?

I have the 4" BWoody, and drive it year round. Up here in MN we get plenty of snow and slush. I haven't had an issue. One day I noticed that while I was driving through fresh powder, I had some snow stuck to the outside of the filter, but didn't have any issues. Like tig488 said. It's almost impossible to hydro-lock unless the the entire tube is submerged.
