Gotcha... what do you mean e-mail tune? Did MHP just send you what they thought would be best for your Jeep?

Yes. I sent them my Stock tune and they used that as a base and sent me back a CMR.

I guarantee that if you let them tweak it on the dyno, you'll get more out of it....

This is true. And I always have the original CMR file just in case I would want to go back if I am not satisfied. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Joe, let me put it to you like this. I've been tuning with SCT (I know this is different than DSP CMR tuning, but it's a similiar concept). I'm using basically the best Modern Mopar SCT tuner in the country, and even with real-time wideband readings , it's taken about 10 different revisions to get it close to dialed in. I know the people over at MHP are VERY talented at what they do but they cannot possibly nail a CMR tune in one try, even with a stock file to base their custom tune off of.

plus you should retune for that sweet FRP TB you're gonna buy...right?

All he basically has is an intake and exhaust.. don't you think that the tune could potentially be over-aggressive?

I'm more busting Joe's balls than anything else. I'm pretty sure he knows that.

Blackpepper, it is very possible that his current tune is overaggressive. He might be running too much timing (based on what he has told me, me might be) . He could be running lean. Even if the knock sensors are pulling timing to keep him safe, it's going to run slower than if it was dialed in, not pulling timing due to knock, and AFR is stable at 12.0-12.3:1 throughout the powercurve.

I'm certainly not saying he's going to gain 20 hp to the wheels or something like that...but I am confident that he will gain something.

When tuning, there is ALWAYS more power to be gained whenever the present baseline tune is either not aggressive enough, or too aggressive.

For what it's worth, all I have on my own Jeep is exhaust, intake, and a ported TB. The 93 octane "canned" tune from Hemifever aka Sean powell did NOT work well in my truck at all, it pinged real bad.

Seems they did!

Joes tune has had no revisions...It is the same exact one TMan has!

If Joe gets it revised...He might run even lower times!
