Re: Cold Air Intake for 2014 GC SRT

It wasn't just a filter. I know the Jeep dealership contacted them direct and it's the whole cold air intake system but sorry to say I really don't know. I'm looking forward to seeing it today. I guess it was just an impulse buy. I looked on their website and I could never find anything but they assured me it was going to fit my 2014 SRT.

I don't know about ya'll, but I'm waiting on Chad @BlackOps. I think his is going to be similiar to the bwoody in function, but without the washer reservoir relocation...

Looks good. This was released back in 2012. I thought you might have found a new intake.

Re: Cold Air Intake for 2014 GC SRT

Have you checked your IAT? I be curious since I've heard these run hot.

Looks more like a hot air kit than a cold air kit save your money

Re: Cold Air Intake for 2014 GC SRT

Yeah, that looks like it's gonna pull hotter air, less restricted, but hotter than the stock box. I bet it's loud though.
I'm only a 5.7 in my '14 Overland, but I just ordered the Volant intake. Should see it in a few days. I can't imagine install will take me more than a half hour.

Re: Cold Air Intake for 2014 GC SRT

From the pic it looks as if it brings a s***load of air into the engine but like it's drawing more hot air in than cold. You could make a isolation box/wall around it like Injen did with theirs.

FWIW, I've been getting around 5 Deg C (9 Deg F) temperature differences between IAT and ambient with the Injen. Sitting in traffic much worse, of course.

Was thinking in the same lines , if you can you need to make an isolation box

Re: Cold Air Intake for 2014 GC SRT

Just installed my Volant CAI yesterday. Took almost ten minutes-
Seat of the pants test- I don't really feel a change. Audible test when stomping the skinny pedal-wow, she's loud.
We will see how the MPG claim goes, but it will take me a couple weeks to stop stabbing the gas pedal just to hear the thing roar.

Re: Cold Air Intake for 2014 GC SRT

150 mile trip towing an 8x12 box trailer at 3400lbs. Highway speeds mostly 72-75mph.
Got 1+ mpg better than normal.
