Re: Eagle heads on wk 5.7

Have you gotten any detail about what EXACTLY needs to be done in order for these obx long tubes to fit on the 5.7l hemi? I have a 07' wk with the 5.7L hemi and have been reading forums for months trying to figure out what EXACTLY has to be done to make these work. I saw American Racing headers finally makes a kit for us 5.7L hemi jeeps but its $1600 and a bit steep 😔

Re: Eagle heads on wk 5.7

In my case they bolt on and ports match as I'm using eagle heads. In a pre 09 5.7 the ports will be mismatched but they will still fit. Other then that after the cats your 5.7 joins into one but the headers stay as individual outlets

Re: Eagle heads on wk 5.7

Ive read that the obx require some type of sensor extensions and still confuswd on that. Also do you know if it is neccesary to change the mid pipes in order for the obx headers to work? If so, any ideas as to WHICH mid pipes will work? Ive read the srt8 midpipes work but not 100% on that

Re: Eagle heads on wk 5.7

Yup you wil probably need O2 sensor extensions and as far as I know all the obx headers I've seen for the srt wk come with mids so you would need to figure out a cat back or bolt on an oem srt8 one

You need to extend one rear O2 sensor to make it fit properly, but you will get cat inefficiency codes regardless unless you put in the kooks replacements. Other than that it's a bolt on project. Also, don't use the supplied gaskets, I hear they like to leak.

Re: Eagle heads on wk 5.7

Awesom thanks for the tip! I'm pretty sure Johan can delete the rear O2's for me. Would you know how long of an extension is needed?

Re: Eagle heads on wk 5.7

You need about six more inches if you disconnect the mounting tab that holds the connector to the transmission case (I cut and spliced more wire in). If you leave it connected, probably more like ten or so.
