Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

I'll sell you one of my SRT resos (same one used on the 5.7), 20 plus shipping.

And it goes right before the tip.

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

my jeep drones like hell, but you get used to it after a while. if you like the sound of your set up, stick with what you got. if you swap it out for a less droning setup, its not going to be agressive enough

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

The stock muffler is center inlet and offset outlet with 2.5 pipes, right? I checked the Hooker web site and they don't show that. Only both offset, both center, offset inlet and center outlet. Can I make one of them work?

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

btw, I bet some good insulation in the back cargo area would help a lot...Gonna try this route and will post later on about it. I'm still gonna go with something else, but a thought if you want to 'tune' your exhaust to your liking (inside with regard to drone and level) maybe (have to see if it works )

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

Jeepnjeep You can can make the offset in center out work. You just need to make sure the case of the muffler has enough room and won't hit stuff like the frame rails. The location of the outlet will remain the same with offset in center out, at least that is my experience. But again you need to be sure there is enough room for the muffler case. A center center can work for you as well pending you are going to have either a custom tailpipe bent up or have piece of pipe bent up to get the outlet to the current tailpipe. All stuff any halfway decent muffler shop can do. If you go with the Hooker max flows they are reverseable and you will not have any issues fitting those in. The rep at hooker mufflers told me the ACs are louder at idle but the max flows are "much much" louder overall and certainly much louder at WOT. Just a thought. The other thing is I have found that the turbo style, straight through whatever you want to call it, mufflers drone less and tend to have a bit less interior resonance while still maintaining an aggressive but mellow tone presence outside the vehicle.

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

sorry i missed this earlier.

i have the magnaflow catback on my 4.7 drone is NG
IMO on the 4.7, you need a resonator or a reso tip at least. I been thinking of getting the 5.7 reso from magnaflow and slicing it in.

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

a reso tip? do those work? Where might i get that?

if i can lessen the drone a little without losing the sick agressive sound, i would be happy

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

yeah I have a drone problem at 2k with my 18in Magnaflow on an 05' 4.7 with no reso, it is annoying sometimes but usually not a problem. I might try a reso tip eventually. I am taking a highway trip this weekend so I will decide then how bad it is. I guess I could always go to autostick and downshift a gear and let it run higher in the RPM's so it doesnt cruise at 2k but that will kill my mpg.

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

I stayed away from a flow master with my 4.7 just because they drone. I love my magnaflow and its sounds better then some 5.7 HEMIs out there. I love my exhaust and i wont trade it for any other style muffler.
