For those of you that are running PCM Tuners....

Most of the faster guys have figured this out...but alot of the other guys (including myself before I sold my Jeep) haven't.

GET DATALOGGING FOR YOUR TUNER!!!

When I had the Jeep, I simply had a wideband and a HD-capable phone. I'd get vids for AFR to Sean, and he'd make the necessary adjustments. He did a pretty good job considering the limited data I gave him. But I think he would have done wayyyy better if I was able to at least video other instrumentation as well

I have a Droid phone (I initially had a Droid 1 then upgraded to the Droid 2) so I have the app called Torque which communicates through the OBD II port via a Bluetooth adapter. I went with the best and bought a PLX Kiwi Bluetooth Adapter (100 bucks).

I am driving around a slow-azz Honda Accord (DD) right now, but even then, I can now view all the standard SAE PID's in real-time and in a HUD-like display on my windshield. Even with large digital display clusters I can see throttle position, timing advance, Vacuum (kpa), rpm, and engine load all at once. Now that I can see all this data, I cant believe I played with SCT for so long without it!!!

I know money is tight for everyone (myself included) but if you wanna go fast yall need this stuff!!!!

I think they make a similiar app for the Iphone....I believe Rev can do OBD-related datalogging?

The point is to go out and log for your tuner. People wonder why they're running slower than other folks with the same software, it's all in the logs...

Re: For those of you that are running PCM Tuners....

What should we be logging when we do this? Just go out and drive or go to the track and log some WOT runs?

Re: For those of you that are running PCM Tuners....

Sorry, been rip-my-hair-out busy lately.....

The speed of data retrieval (sp?) is dependent on how much stuff you are physically logging. I'm not overly familiar with the Diablo interface but just being able to monitor certain items in real time should be sufficient, while other things should be logged.

Here is some of the stuff you would want to log on a 5.7:

Short term/Long term fuel trims
Short term knock/Long term Knock
RPM (I'm guessing Diablo has a PID for RPM)
Manifold pressure (kpa)
Vacuum

Some stuff you also would want to monitor would be timing advance and IAT's. IAT's in addition to the knock sensors are a measure of regulating spark advance.
