FRi sidewinder cam Question...

If I were to upgrade my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7l hemi to an Fri Sidewinder cam, would I need to upgrade anything else? Such as upgrading to aftermarket stall converter etc....

Also How can I tell if I need the group 1 or 2 package when ordering the kit.

Please, any advice would be appreciated becasue Im a begginer at this and want to learn without messing up my jeep. Thanks in advance.

Re: FRi sidewinder cam Question...

Upgrade your springs and rods. Best if you can get new headers or fit the 6.1 headers on and new exhaust. And you'll need a diablo sport tuner.

Re: FRi sidewinder cam Question...

Ive already got the diablo trinity tuner, along with K&N 77series intake, magna flow exhaust system, ported throttle body 85mm, and Eibach lowering springs; however, when you mean springs and rods, what do you recommmend? Can you provide a little more info? Thanks in advance Bro

Re: FRi sidewinder cam Question...

Also I got some funds saved up for some american racing headers; however, I really dont know what its gonna cost me to install them. I have some friends who do alot of mechanical work and are willing to help out, but they tell me its going to be a tough job without a lifter to raise the vehicle and that is something we just dont have.

Does anyone know the cost for installation of headers or can recommend anyone in the southern california area that has knowledge of working with Jeep grand Cherokees who can do it for a good price? Thanks Jeepers

Re: FRi sidewinder cam Question...

Definitely get back or PM me about them. Maybe we can do a group buy or something.

For your springs and rods look at www.inertiamotorsports.com.

Re: FRi sidewinder cam Question...

It would be in your best interest to get a CMR or custom tune of some type specific to the cam. Canned tune IMO is half-assing it.
