Do you have a spare manifold? Don't send me the one off your daily driver....That's a recipe for disaster.

Turnaround depends on my schedule and how much portwork I have to do. As many can tell you on here, I stay very busy and my schedule is not very consistent.

Price I would say would be anywhere (if you supplied manifold) 150-300 including shipping back to you. Turnaround time is TBA but once I get time to start it I could finish it in a day. Finding time is the problem, not time spent porting.

I have an 05-07 manifold on its way here... I'll try to take pics along the way.

I also have an 03-04 (also compatible with 99-02) on the way now too.

Doing any runner length mods? I almost pulled the trigger on an early non H.O. manifold a couple weeks ago to play with it. Take pictures please!

No i am not, that would involve opening the manifold. On the 03-07 manifolds, there is no easy way to do it as there is no flat area to serve as a potential "access panel". I would eventually like to get a manifold for the purpose of cutting open to see all is in there, but i think the time spent cutting open, modifying the plenum, and sealing it back together would become too costly for the end user. The 08 has shorter runners, so for those looking for more top end, should consider that manifold.

I am making some significant changes to the plenum inlet though.

See first post. I don't know if low end will necessarily be better, but I dont expect a loss. We will see.

Tuning will likely be recommended.

The results of mild porting were very positive. No or negligible low end loss with drastically improved mid-range and top end. All without tuning.

The potential benefits would be:

1)Cost effective upgrade over stock
2)Provide a compromise between low end grunt and top end power
3)No fitment problems on WJs or WKs- Factory part with factory fitment
4)Potentially, a better match for those looking for a upgraded manifold with lifts, big tires, setups that require torque down low.

This is the 03-04 manifold (both Std and HO). This manifold is identical to the 05-07 manifold, with the exception that the 05-07 has an EGR hole, with threaded EGR mounts. The 03-04 (and earlier models) have a similiar boss, but the hole is filled in. Almost as if they intended to run EGR on all 4.7s, but did not implement it until '05. Weird.

The inlet. Note the taper, this is not present in the earlier models. This will be modified some, the taper will still be there but more gradual. Inlet is ~70mm.

This is the inlet to the plenum. If you look at the manifold from the outside, you will notice that the inlet makes about a 75* turn, followed by another 90* soon after to enter the plenum (think of this as the heart of the manifold) This 165* turn in a short period of time KILLS flow and velocity. There is also a stepdown in the inlet floor (look for just after the thin seam across the floor) which is largely dead space. What I plan on doing is laying down a layer of epoxy to eliminate this stepdown and leave a direct, straight floor to the short side radius downward into the plenum.

Look on the left hand side. Note the seam protruding into the inlet. this is about 2-3 mm thick and runs throughout the left side. This will be ground flush. It was these kind of seams in the runners of the 3.7 runners that lead to significant improvements...and they werent even facing the relative airflow.

Lastly, but not least.....Look in the very back, on the floor. The pic makes it look small, but there is a HUGE (1/4-3/8") hump/ridge just chillin' on the floor right before the short side radius into the downward turn. Initially I thought this was some sort of trick to induce swirl/tumble in the manifold, but that was me assuming Chrysler knew what they were doing. This hump is crooked and appears to be there because one of the runners sits under it. This will be eliminated so that it blends with the floor.

This is the right side of the inlet. There is a seam on this side, too, but is much smoother and sits more flush than the left side seam. Still, it'll be ported to be flush.

Towards the back, it is not really visible but there is a massive void where the "EGR" boss is. Again, mostly dead space and can't be good for flow. this will be fixed with epoxy.
