Re: IAT extension question for BWoody

would have been nice to know that earlier

well I have to cut the stock IAT connection off...connect the wires to the one bwoody sent me and use a different connector/IAT sensor. No issues...techflexed it and it looks great IMO. It was super simple Paul...if you need more info I can do a better write-up, and when I get my predator I will be doing a full write-up on the whole process

brown wire seems to be ground...pic of IAT connector cut off

sut and stripped extension supplied from BWoody...black (blue wire, not visible but red had a green strip on blue wire) connects to brown wire on stock wires. Butt connectors used and heat-shrinked over, then electrical tape

techflexed the connection, overlapped the chrome stock wiring

another install pic....I was so amazed at how far the BWoody intake send the filter in the lower fender. It is amazing how the frame, fog lights and fender trim create a great heat/debris shield for it...and with the drycharger I am good to go

Brad...Do you have a way of seeing what our IAT temp is? The first time I did it I was seeing a constant -40 reading!

Re: IAT extension question for BWoody

16-22 gauge should work fine...my butt-connectors were 18-22 and IIRC the wires appeared to be 16 gauge

EDIT - it may be 18 gauge...but either will work

Seriously...and then me (the consumer) calls and they ship me out a new IAT but wrong application again (it matched the extension, so I assume its an IAT for a SRT8) all the while telling me they have never had this issue before. Pretty weak, and I was a returning customer

The outside temp has been 66-74, and I have had a average 70 degree reading on the IAT...which from what I have read is 45 below average (115 is that right? for some reason I have that # in my head). That is with 87 tune, mds off.
