Installed: Corsa Exhaust 14457 on 2014 Overland - Fitment Issues

Hey Guys,
Pretty excited to finally have the Corsa Cat Back system installed on my jeep. Due to the fact I installed this at home without a lift I think I have run into a couple issues though. Thought I would post up as I would love some insight on some of this. I'm going to try to explain while keeping this short as possible.

I did it myself in a garage with no lift or anything, so install was a little tricky. I had a huge problem lining up the rear mufflers. Basically the hangers in the back were pushing up into the body rather than hanging down as I tried to fit them into the axle pipes coming from the front. I was able to twist the axle pipes around so it would finally fit together, but still had the issue with the rear muffler hangers pushing up into the body instead of hanging on the rubber mounts.

Then as I would try to even the rear mufflers out, they would detach from the axle pipes even though they had been snugged up just enough to adjust. Finally I took a break, came back later, loosed everything up, twisted the axle pipes a little more and got it to where things were staying together but not hanging right, (the hangers still pushing up into the body and very close to the rear bumper).

I decided to fire it up and see what she sounded like, as it seemed everything was together. On two spots I noticed water dripping out of the connection spots where the pipes are clamped together. I made sure to torque everything down to the specs in the instructions. When I took it for a test drive I noticed some "Farting" when shifting to 2nd and then 3rd gear. It is much worse when at WOT.

Took it to a muffler shop and asked them to adjust the whole thing on a lift as I did not have one. Did my best to find a good muffler shop but..... looks like they may have just bent the hangers or something in the back to get the pipes coming out even and keep the hangers from hitting the body. Needless to say I still get the farting when hitting the gas moderately heavy, and now when I sit at lights it feels like the whole system is vibrating, causing this super deep bass in the cabin....... no fun at all

Any input as what could be going on with the "farting" and the vibration bass would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

A couple images to show where I am talking about it hitting the body. At this point I am ready to find someone with a lift and try to redo it.

re: Installed: Corsa Exhaust 14457 on 2014 Overland - Fitment Issues

Guess I made my post up top too long.... ha. Anyway I am going to update with my progress to help anyone who may have issues in the future.

This weekend I am going to take some time and try and re-do this somewhat. Just loosen it up, and then see if I can re-adjust. Bellow are the main things I am trying to accomplish by doing this.

- Get rid of the water dripping out of some of the clamp connections
- Get rid of the bad "fart" when shifting form 1-2 and 2-3
- Get rid of the vibration causing bass so loud when in gear at idol it's annoying
- Line-up the muffler tips better

I will follow up with progress and photos.

I have the same issue with my Borla. Just give it time. My cousin is a mechanic and he explained to me that the exhaust needs time to break in. He said at least 500-1000 miles before you can hear the true sound!!!

Thanks for sharing. Interesting to hear as it seems to be changing a bit for me as the miles add up. In sport mode I am still getting a bad "fart" when it shifts.

Still need to find time to get under it and look.

I have heard some things about figment issues on the corsa.... So starting to wander if there is more going on here.

I had the Corsa for my 2012 hemi. Same issue but it went away as the miles added on.

Well this is good to know. It seems to be getting better in normal mode, but in sport it sure is nasty from 1st-2nd and 2nd-3rd
