Jeep Grand cherokee 3.0L CRD (160kw) 2009 model

Hi i just bought my first Jeep. 3.0L CRD (160kw)
Few advice from anyone who has done it before:

1) which brand chip is best and safe? (Dtuk, tdi-tuning, racechip?)
2) i need to clear my exhaust system, i found one unit fitted near the firewall (is it the CAT?), and one larger silencer / resonator in the middle. Can i remove them without any issues or check lights?
3) Theres a small round unit in the intercooler piping in the front of the engine compartment, what is that? can i remove that to clear the flow?

4) safe to use mobil 1 oil in this Merc engine?

Thanks for any help.

Hi,
not sure about which chip will work well. However with the exhaust mods once you modify the cats it will throw a check engine light. Usually because the o2 sensor at the cat no longer receives the correct info. You can tell the computer to ignore the warning but you will need to tune the engine to run right and this of course will cost.
I,ve modified the exhaust on my other car (6ltr v8) once the maf sensor and cats where changed the vehicle will run poorly until tuned.
i guess you will need to weigh up the costs verse the benifits you get.

Will be good to see how you go as I've got the same engine.

Green Diesel engineering will offer the best bet as far as improvements over stock - tested and validated by multiple members on here.
