Jet 180 thermostat

I bought a jet 180 thermostat for my 5.7 and I was wondering if I need to change any parameters on my trinity to help it function properly?

Re: Jet 180 thermostat

What is the benefit of running a cooler thermostat?

Cooler engine temps? Longer engine life? Why do they not come from the factory designed to run cooler?

Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Jet 180 thermostat

At least you are located in Calif. In colder States such as Minnesota, Washington, Ore. Idaho, I would say NO. but should be ok in Calif. Drive and see what happens if anything, go from there.

Yes change your fan settings or else it will still stay at the stock temp settings

Smile Re: Jet 180 thermostat

You cannot change the fan setting on the 5.7 hemi only on the 6.1 hemi. it will keep engine cool but once you sit in traffic it will go up to 215 217 then go back to 180 185. I had one on my Hemi did not help at all I got worse gas mpg stay stock.
