LOL
Ok, a little more time behind the wheel. I'm hating the shifts from a dig, it's like it bogs 1-2 and pause/farts 2-3 and 3-4.

BUT from a roll -paddle down to a lower gear getting the RPM above 3000, punch it, the SRT exhaust starts bellowing and it jumps as hard as my WK SRT did only the rush keeps building (instead of tapering at the top) until you slam into the rev limiter, grab the +paddle shift/fart and your speed is already warrant worthy. I'm happy to report that the 5.7 no longer suffers from anemia.

Re: Just ordered a RIPP for my 5.7

I just installed my RIPP kit. Have you had the P0172, P0175 rich codes and P0330 knock sensor code? Due to those I haven't really gotten on mine yet since I put the S/C on at 99,200 miles and I'm not sure how rich or lean it actually is running... I got in touch with a highly recommended custom tuner today though.

I have not had those codes but you are running lean somewhere on the map and a reputable tuner will seek those A/F areas out and adjust the fuel to where you will have no misfires or knock to sense and therefore no code to throw.

This is all assuming there is no other cause for knock like carbon buildup or something else age related.

Good luck with the tuner and share what you learn. Money well spent.

what Tuner are you working with?

I can tell you from my experiences that I have had ALL of those codes on my 3.6L RIPP setup ...and pretty mush most all of the guys here that I have spoken with that have RIPP setups have had some or all of those codes as well...their tune gets you in the ballpark but you really need a custom tune to work out all the issues...there are quite a few variables that can cause these codes...you'll prob start getting PO 300-306 codes as well...those are misfires...they come hand in hand with the knock codes

rich/lean can be associated to boost leaks...leaky oring on the injectors...and a multitude of other things...tuning etc...

the BIG things I found on mine that you really need to keep an eye out for are :

Gap of the plugs (mine runs at .032")
Orings on the injectors...very easy to install with a crushed or damage the Oring
Boost leak...can come from anywhere in the system
Oil blowby can DEF cause the knocking ...really need a catch can and try to eliminate the oil breather air from the intake air...meaning running 2 catch cans or a catch can with a breather after the PCV -totally eliminating the breather line from passing oil vapor back into the system.

have you checked your air filter? If there is ANY oil in it or on it then you are getting blowby....and you need to fix that

Fuel is a big one...really need to run nothing less than 93 octane

I also would HIGHLY recommend having an AF gauge installed in your jeep to monitor the AF at all times....

I've worked with a couple tuners...but would recommend working with a local tuner that can tune on the dyno...that's really the only way it's ever going to be right...bolting the SC kit on is only half the battle...it still requires a LOT of tuning and detail work to make it safe/right

Sleeper GC ...the RIPP tune stinks with the shifting ...I had the exact same problems with my 3.6L stage 1 kit ...I had to lift between shifts to get it to perform properly....when I mashed the pedal I would get a 0-60 time of ~5.4-5.6 Sec ...by lifting between shifts I improved that 0-60 time to ~4.6-4.8 Sec consistently

My new setup is being tuned with HP tuning ...the diablo tuning is pretty limited in the parameters you can adjust according to my HP tuner...my tuner told me that there is no way to really adjust the shift points with the diablo or HP as well...with the HP tuning he had to adjust the fuel/spark/timing at the RPM where the vehicle shifts and now it BANGS shifts incredibly hard now...NO more lag or having to lift between shifts ...

I would recommend having a custom tune done to work on the shifting....it takes a long time so expect to pay a fair amount to get it right...my jeep has been at the tuner for the past few weeks and has been on the dyno for over 20 Hours...and they burned over 50 Gallons of fuel on the dyno so far ...it's getting close...but not quite done yet...

I'm in contact with Greene Racing. Jay came very highly recommended by all the Houston Mopar guys.

good to here...he should be able to tune out all the issues then...I'm assuming you're having them do a dyno tune?

that's really the only way to go in my opinion..I've been messing with my Supercharger setup now for almost 2 years...I have learned mostly what not to do ...

I did the whole remote tune thing myself...working with Johan Mangs....I was never able to dial out all my issues...the good thing about a dyno tune is the ability to see whats happening in real time....also...having someone who knows forced induction...looking at the motor on the dyno...they can typically see the smallest of issues and know how to fix them...unfortunately with remote tuning ...you may have a mechanical issue and not be able to see that in the logs you send..and thats what they tune from.

Still working on the high end of the tune but so far it's pushing a safe 420awd hp/420tq at 5700 rpm/14lbs with lots of room to go..hoping we can get a safe 450/450 at 15lbs

I'll let you know as soon as the tune is settled..I'll post plenty of dyno info

Either way..this v6 is def pushing out plenty of power

Ice storm hit today just as it was getting finished so I have yet to run it. Driving impressions to follow.
Sounds like a blast. Lol at the fart sound comments.
Where is the torque curve?
