Just ordered a RIPP for my 5.7

And now I enter the darkside. It will be a few weeks but I'll keep you posted.

Meanwhile let the helpful hints fly.

Dood, that's awesome. Totally stealth. 290 Wheel HP to 420 HP.

That, with a stock exhaust...will be blowing the doors off of just about everything.

Guestimating 520 HP at the crank....given 20% drivetrain losses....

Re: Just ordered a RIPP for my 5.7

No offense but I hope luck has nothing to do with it.

Cashing in my extended warranty to help fund it, I also hope that isn't a double edged sword.

I tell my kids hope isn't a plan.....and I just used the word twice. Crap.

That little whistly noise is to scare the deer off the highway, keep then out of the intercooler.....yeah....that's the ticket!

Congrats man! I just put one on my 3.6, the difference is insane. I can't imagine how it'd feel on the 5.7

Re: Just ordered a RIPP for my 5.7

Sounds like the 3,6 is really woken up with this kit but I'm not convinced the 5.7 will be quicker than a stock SRT. I had a first gen 6.1 and they are simply built to launch.

First thing to figure out is how much of this I want to take on myself. The installation manual looks very thorough, 30 pages with lots of color pics and helpful hints. I've got the tools and did a Whipple install 15 years ago so enduring the experience again would save me about a grand that a speed shop would charge. Money saved goes into refining the tune.

Re: Just ordered a RIPP for my 5.7

I've been messing with the ripp system on my 2014 3.6l for about a year and a half

I had the initial install done for me but I was very involved ..the only tricky part was getting the upper intake off

The rest is simple ..change injectors..map sensor..install pcv valve/catch can ..you just remove the front fascia and everything just bolts in via brackets etc..the tune they provide will get you in the ballpark but if you really want the most out of it you'll def want to get a custom tune on the dyno ..I'd actually expect that 5.7l when tuned right to put down 450+ whp on 7lbs

On 10lbs my 3.6l was putting down 420awd whp

Now I have a custom built 3.6l that's set up for 14-15lbs

It's at the dyno shop right now waiting to be tuned tomorrow morning

So I'll either be really excited or really bummed to see the outcome ..but I'm hoping/expecting to be in the 450+ awd hp range

Re: Just ordered a RIPP for my 5.7

Ajag you are building quite the V6 beast!

Met with the tuner yesterday who will do the install and the custom mapping on the dyno. I think it comes with a 6psi pulley so I'm going safe for now. Still trying to decide on stock 5.7 vs. SRT exhaust. I don't want it loud so I probably won't go aftermarket but a little more rumble would be nice. Anybody have a stock SRT WK2 exhaust they want to unload?

Should have some pics and dyno video by the end of the month. Stay tuned - pun intended.

As long as it runs and doesn't blow up I will be happy...although I will be disappointed if it's not ~450HP

SleeperGC...ever consider just getting rid of the front resos and having a custom Xpipe made?

should sound pretty good...and be relatively inexpensive
