Liberty cai mod ?

I have been researching getting a Cai for my 07 gc 3.7. I saw quite few posts about getting a liberty intake tube, along with the k&n Cai, to replace the stock air resonator to allow for a more direct air flow to the throttle body. I noticed summit racing sells an airaid Cai the connects directly to the throttle body. That, I would think, eliminates the need for the liberty tube. Anyone ever seen or used this airaid setup? Its cheaper than k&n also... your thoughts?

Re: Liberty cai mod ?

definitely look into getting the Liberty upper pipe... it made a pretty solid difference with my throttle response when coupled with my K&N. Not to mention i now get 21-22 MPG on the highway easily vs when i was totally stock.

The pipe alone will cost you roughly $50-60. And all i had to do was extend the ambient temp sensor wire 12" to reach around the the driver side of the TB. And as for the sensor itself fitting. All you need to do is gently pop it out of the stock location (on resonator box), next pop out the sensor that comes with the liberty tube (throw out) and install your original one in its place. It will be a tight fit but it will seat nice and flat once you get it in the rubber grommet. By far the BEST bang for the buck mod i have done to my rig so far.

Re: Liberty cai mod ?

I was considering buying the tube for the 4.7L... It goes directly into the TB straight from the filter. Should only run you about $70. Robpp was able to get one claiming it was a replacement...... Looks clean too
