Re: Look what I built today

That is the best looking DIY Intake i have ever seen NO JOKE. GO you that is awesome.

If you want/need i have 2 black silicone 3" or 3.5" (not sure i can measure them) couplers with the bump in the middle so they can flex. They are extras i got from AFE. Free if you want/need them just need the clamps. I also have a K&N filter from a WJ FIPK kit, but it has a 3.5" ID i think(i can check again) . Free if you want it too.

Great job, i like it!

Re: Look what I built today

looks good.

the long K&N and maybe others have a support about midway. you should see about rigging something up for support, but do it from the engine. this way as the engine moves so does the intake. if you rigid mount it to the frame and the other end the TB, eventually something has to give.

ahh, good point rob, I was actually going to mount a bracket to one of the stock locations on the frame, I didn't even think about the slight movement of the motor. Over time, i'm sure it would make something come lose.

^Kyle, thanks but I'm pretty much set in my setup. I appreciate the offer though, use the kn to make yours! Honestly it wasn't really too hard, just a little patience to get everything to fit right.

Did my best 0-60 time tonight, 7.40 flat! woohoo, don't worry the speed limit was 55mph. That would be about .4 second faster than my previous time, which was ran at 66 degree outdoor temp, rather than tonight's 84 degrees. Superchips also reported that I did 0-50 in 5.65 seconds. The increase in pull feels about equal to that of the superchips with 91 tune.

Re: Look what I built today

What type of paint would you guys recommend for it? Engine enamel? I guess something heat resistant would be the obvious choice, any pointers? scott?

Re: Look what I built today

You can go to advanced auto parts and there is some heat resistant paint you could try out.
