Re: Look Whats In My Catch Can...

There IS a better way of doing this catch can thing guys, but I'll need time to write it up.
Problem is, I won't be putting one on my Jeep, so maybe if I do a write up on my race car's setup, someone can replicate what I've said on their Jeep and do a proper Jeep writeup?

Re: Look Whats In My Catch Can...

Frankie got some chicken fingers to go with that honey/mustard? LOL J/K but I think Benny is right. I'd save it in a ziplock or something and clean the can out and see if it happens again. Could just be like they said moisture in the system that got cought up in the catch can when it cooled like the receiver dryer in the a/c system. When a substance changes it's form you'll get some crazy stuff.

yikes, I'd be thinking head gasket leak. but if your filler cap and dipstick are clean, then maybe you are ok.

one the hemis they install this catch can on the line from the intake mani to the PCV valve. what happens, under load and even normal driving, oil sprays thru this hose and can go directly into your intake causing a mess inside there. gunking and gumming everything up. so the can catch's this blow by oil before it goes into the intake tract......

yeah if the dipstick is milky, especially after sitting overnight, then I'd pull the plugs and check them for coolant and I wouldn't drive the vehicle either until you find the source. you may want to check your coolant overlow tank for an oil film.
