Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

Matt, that looks like it is the box that at one point was attached to the factory intake box (side). That is your vacuum reservoir for the vacuum supply system/speed control servo or whatever its called. So something i assume with cruise control and maintaining speed when going up and down grades.

Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

Infact to make sure i was 100% correct (or as close as possible lol), I just went and checked my WK service manual... page 8P-1 discusses speed control if you were interested in the system that uses/involves that vacuum box. It does relate to what i mentioned. That should help.

Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

If i had to guess i probably get all these weird noises also... but when i accelerate between the roar form the engine and the rumble from the exhaust i personally cant hear any other "noises" from the jeep. haha. For all i know its falling apart.

Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

I have all the hoses and lines hooked up. It hasn't done it recently since I took out the 91 octane tune from superchips. Boy, Mike I know you say that you didn't notice that big of a difference with superchips, but once you take the tune out and drive it at stock settings, I promise you, you will. The only reason i set it back to stock is because I had my wife riding with me, I was on dead empty, and she doesn't know I've been running premium gas. I told her i got superchips to boost fuel economy. Once this tank runs out, back to premium immediately.

As for being able to hear it, it only happened when I was slowing down. Believe me, when I hit it, a conversion is a challenge.

Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

Oh i agree that the superchips made my Jeep feel better when driving it... (shifting and the old butt dyno) but my thing is if the 0-60 timer has any hint of accuracy, the consistent 8.5 second 0-60 for my jeep is hardly an improvement from stock in my opinoin.

Dam, 8.5 consistently? when you update your programmer, are you sure you have all your firewall settings turned off for the easy update program? I didn't realize my tuner was getting messed up by my firewall, it would only dl partial updates, consiquently my jeep didn't run that great.

Yes, consistently. That is why i haven't given up this gripe.... I guess i can try and run an update from my computer if there are any. I never connected the programmer to my computer at all since i had it.

Yeah, give it a try. If you go on the superchips forum, there is a tutorial that you should go through first to make sure the program works properly.
