So it has a constant flow of fresh cool air flowing through it.

I'm in the heating and ac business. We use pvc pipe for flue pipe on 90% condensing furnaces. Flue gas is VERY hot, well over 100 degrees, with no softening of plastic. PVC does not transfer heat well at all. Which is why, a flue pipe that is B-vent (double walled metal) has to be a certain distance away from combustibles like 2x4's in a house. There is no minimum distance for pvc, pvc can touch 2x4's and still pass inspection.
Yeah I was thinking that what I quoted was just overblown. I'm not worried about it.

Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

Dude you should do it, from what I've seen by looking at 5.7's online, it looks like it would be suuuuuper easy, it looks like just a 90 degree elbow, and then one 45 or 30 degree elbow pointing downwards.

Yeah I was looking at the CAI/Exhaust thread and the BWoodys on the 5.7's look like cake! I wonder what size piping I could fit... probably stick with 4". I also think I'm set on going with an Amsoil filter. They claim to be a top performer and do an outstanding job at filtering. Sucks they run $50-60 for the size that would work, but that are cleanable/reusable.

The trickiest part is the 90 degree elbow. Unless you use the elbow with glue. When i cut the flared end off the right angle elbow, it throws off the outer diameter. So a coupling wants to slide off. Which is why i had to revert back to the flex piece that came with the truck. For the most part it is all smooth inside, but the end of the 90 degree pipe, does not touch the straight piece. I think you can buy like a silicone elbow from pep boys which would work better, and look better.

Hmm, good point. I'll look into the silicone elbows.. sounds like the way to go in my case.

Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

you can fit whatever diameter piping you want just as long as you get the correct silicon sleeve. For instance..I believe the 3.7 TB is basicly 3"....if you got 4" piping...you would need a silicon sleeve that was 3" on end one amd 4" on the other or a 4" to 3' reducer sleeve. they are pretty common

Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

or take a chance on the K&N for the 4.7 since it deletes the resonator....

Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

If i remember correctly there was a member on here that was going to get a kit from jegs. It was DIY kit complete with black plastic 3"piping, clamps, couplings, elbows everything you would need. I think it was like 100 bux or something. Had i seen that before i made mine, i would have bought it. Heck, I still might. Even though the "Mwoody" is working without issue, and has been for what, about 5 months now. I like to tinker
