Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

Matt, can you get some better pics of the MAF sensor integration and throttle body integration?

It doesn't look like you did, but did you use a silicone connector at the TB or is it PVC...?

By MAF sensor, do you mean the intake air temp sensor? I believe it's the only sensor in the intake. I'll take some pics, but I can tell you what i did. I just took a 1/2 inch bit and drilled a hole where i wanted the sensor to be. With a 1/2 inch bit, i had to ream it out a little larger. I just kept test fitting and making it a little larger each time until it fit very snug in the hole.

As for where it connects to the throttle body, I used the clamp. The metal clamps have a rubber sleeve on the inside. I just simply clamped the pvc to the throttle body using that clamp. The diameter of the pvc is just ever so slightly larger than the throttle body, but the clamp had enough play to tighten up on the throttle and the pvc. Kind of hard to explain, but very simple to do....enough jabbering, i'll go take some pics.

^Thanks Irf!

Well I didn't do any immediate before and after testing. Meaning I didn't install the factory intake, run a 0-60 and then install my cai and immediately run a 0-60. Seeing as the outdoor temp has dropped considerably since i had the factory intake, the numbers are a little skewed in the new intakes favor. If i remember correctly, my best 0-60 with only superchips and a k&n drop in filter was somewhere around 8 seconds or so. That was with the temps in the upper 70's/low 80's. Now I consistently run 7.4 or better, with my best time coming in at 6.86 with 45 degree outdoor temp.

Re: "Mwoody" Finished product

Just FYI for those who are thinking about doing this... our vendor here, Synthetic Lube Store, gives us a pretty nice discount on Amsoil air filters; something like 20% off the price you see on Amsoil.com.
