Re: Other than RIPP for a supercharger?

I agree with you fairbird. I called RIPP yesterday. They are the only ones who sell a supercharger for the Jeep 5.7. It was explained that other manufactures are stuck figuring out the tuning at this point. That being said, they have have so many builds to complete that they're behind 30 days. Regardless, I've only read one bad review and it was on the wrangler. (Operator error). So, I'm going to go ahead and place an order for mine! I found the best deal for it is through FastHemis for $5800... RIPP confirmed their price. Lastly, RIPP said the kit would go on sale through them in September, but would only be $300 off. The guy I talked to was a huge help.

Does anyone know anywhere else to get a supercharger?

Re: Other than RIPP for a supercharger?

WK2 it's a 2014. I found it on eBay. I have to drive 600 miles to a jeep dealership in Dallas though. It only has 2061 miles on it!!

Re: Other than RIPP for a supercharger?

Holy crap! The SRT is awesome! Just picked this beast up yesterday. I was driving back to El Paso from Dallas... A lot of open empty spaces... Had a Mustang GT at one point riding my ass, so I decided I wouldn't waste any time seeing what the SRT could do. I took off, initially the mustang was relatively close, but when I looked down I was over 140mph and the Mustang was an afterthought in my rear view mirror.

Re: Other than RIPP for a supercharger?

Ha, we are doing the opposite. Just traded our 2010 SRT8 for a 2014 Summit. We will be supercharging it. Hotmix, what shop did you have do the install? Where did you source the Whipple? I have a shop that can probably do the tuning, just collecting info at this point.

Thanks!

Re: Other than RIPP for a supercharger?

Trading in the 2010 SRT for the Summit is a good idea regardless. That being said, you most likely could've found a 2014 SRT on on eBay for roughly the same price as a summit, depending on the options that come on them. The 2014 SRT I got was used with only 2061 miles for $59K. Your only option for a supercharger on the summit is RIPP, and they are back logged over two months with orders. Just make sure you shop around for it, when I was looking I found FastHemis had it cheaper than RIPP or any other site.

I've been thinking about the same upgrade for my 2014 JGC Overland, 5.7. Check out www.edelbrock.com. Part Number 1534. Install yourself or Edelbrock will recommend an installer in your area. Although Edelbrock provides a nice warranty you may want to check Jeep warranty with any and all upgrades you consider making before actually making them. Yes costly, but professional clean look and a nice increase of approximately 120 + HP and Torque. Good luck.
