Mine is extremely close. I accidentally did not buy as much piping as I needed (I have more on order through Air Ram) so the filter I think is in contact with the hood, and the piping is really close.

Even though the setup is for now less than ideal, there is a discernable difference. Passing in OD is even easier than before, and the sound is just insane.

This thing is REALLY loud right around 3000-3500. Its unlike anything I've ever experienced.
haha, that's awesome! That's about the 'sweet' spot for mine too!

With the 02 manifold mine started making noise around 2500, but now, it makes that noise down low and then goes into a whole nother phase at 3000. Think a V8 version of VTEC. Even when you go to throttle up in OD, you can hear it pulsating. Its kinda crazy.

The air filter is right above the front of the drivers side valve cover.

Uhoh! I just made one of these PVC CAIs as well and now I'm wondering if it will pass inspection? I have all the stock parts if I truly need to put them back in.

I passed NJ inspection with one, but the ghetto factor was enough to make me ditch it.
