Re: Part throttle upshift - Predator - U7137

I called you back. Just got back from the dealer after installing the tune again. I had a coupon for 4 x 4 service so I had.the front, rear diff; transfer case fluids changed at 84 k miles. Installing the original backup takes long enough, but entering the parameters takes a minute, too. I'm on my phone to pull up this thread and I decided to see how much I can type while the original backup loads.
I'm sitting next to a ferrari 512 tr in this parking lot, black, very sexy.. I need tapatalk so I can upload pics... Sigh 80% uploaded.

I wish I could save the stings in the tuned... Has anyone adjusted their rpm levels from my posted tune? Some input on one two shifts would be great. Are they too hard, soft... If they're too hard, lower the rpm at the 15%, 30% levels for a better commuting transmision, so to speak.. if you want to raise the rpms, mind your transmission bc it will be under more strain. I recently raised the done and it did give the jeep that jackrabbit feel, but it wasn't proper for daily use. So please tweak with it if you trust yourself and report back, then we can collaborate and fine tune the .... tune... Instead of data logging info and sending it off.

Re: Part throttle upshift - Predator - U7137

From personal experience, dont mess with the idle. I did to raise it up some and i couldn't shift out of park without some funky thing happening ie a surge in done and I shifted into drive and when in drive, it felt like I was in four Lo. Not recommended.

I also heard that messing with the spark is a no no, don't ask me why, a lx owner told me such one day at the track. But what about adding or removing fuel at wot? Are there any benefits to that?

Re: Part throttle upshift - Predator - U7137

The performance tunes preloaded by Diablo do several things among these items they advance your spark timing (very slightly) and remove fuel (very slightly). This makes the Jeep a bit faster. Don't go crazy removing fuel and advancing timing or you will need a new engine.

Unless you have a way to monitor and log these items (wideband and a realtime datalogger) I would not mess with them to much as it can destroy your engine.

Adding fuel at WOT will make it slower if your stock or somewhat stock as it is probably already fat from the factory.

Now if you have some engine mods done... cam, heads, longtubes, stroker your going to have to have it custom tuned.

Being F/I I have to remove timing and add fuel exact opposite of N/A. If I used the performance 93 tune I would be needing a new engine....lol.

So if I set these up exactly as blackpepper did, running on a 93 tune will still work properly?

I dont wanna start changing stuff without some input lol.

So who has done the downshift settings and what did you set them to?

Honestly, just contact Johan and get a CMR it's that worth it IMHO. I'm sure plenty who'd read this will back me up. Nonetheless, Im not sure I had the downshift option.

Jerseyboy hooked me up with my CMR. I'm just modifying it a bit.
