Re: Performance Upgrade recommendations

You can pick a cam that fits your driving style and setup. As for heads get the best you can afford... Period, heads are very important for perfomance just to stay simple. As far as your throttle body is concerned get a F&B billet.. They are the shit and is what I run. Tuner- I don't have allot to offer since I don't folow the HEMI that closey anymore. You can go the blower/turbo route which will add plenty of power.

Re: Performance Upgrade recommendations

Best advise I can give you is to plan it all out and do lots of research!

Oh yeah and Forced Induction Rules!

Re: Performance Upgrade recommendations

if you're down to spend that amount of money, you might as well just do a free flowing exhaust and forced induction with a good tune and supporting mods. forced induction will give you more power than any combination of bolt ons, heads and cam. if i had the money thats what i'd do.

You will have a very well balanced WK with the slight performance mods listed and the suspension mods. One that I personally would rather have than coming on here and bragging about going straight 1320 ft. My god...mash the gas and go...not very fun in my book. JMHO.
Excuse me?

The OP in his first post expressed a desire for PERFORMANCE. Do you really think every person that posts on here takes into consideration that 1 lb of rotational mass equals over 7 lbs of non-rotational mass??? The OP's admitted lack of knowledge on automotive related items implied that if he wanted performance (which he did), then if nothing else, the above point needs to be brought to light before making further decisions.

Larger wheels are fine to a point, after a certain point (typically 20") it starts significantly affecting the ride quality and the handling characteristics. You want SOME sidewall, even on the skidpad. If you were correct, all racing teams would be competing in donks!

By the way....my WJ is far from a one-trick pony. Take a good hard look at the suspension work I have done, and you will see that.

Re: Performance Upgrade recommendations

damn dude chill the **** out...I was joking. I dont think he's gonna be running the 1320......otherwise he wouldnt have the audio etc. and the 22" wheels. Like I said...most people arent looking to improve their et's or their 60's....theyre looking for better feelings from their butt dyno and a wheel that is 3 pounds heavier isnt gonna affect that enough to feel with their butt.
Personally...I have no idea about your truck....but I was just generalizing most 1320 racers...ie. Joey

I am perfectly calm....

In comparison to the factory 17s/18s, you would feel going to most sets of 20's, 22s, etc. on the "butt dyno". I know I felt a difference going to 31's, which were 7 lbs per wheel heavier than my previous set.

Re: Performance Upgrade recommendations

you obviously have the common misconception that all wheels of 20" weigh alot more than they do....they dont unless you buy some cheap wheel..... I have weighed the stocks WK 17's with tires compared to say the oem SRT's with tires and there is very little difference. I wannna say the SRT's are lighter....but its been a couple years since I weighed them both. I do know there are very light foirged wheels out there as well.

Incorrect. I am more than aware of forged wheels and lighterweight designs. Problem is they are still significantly heavier- a larger wheel requires more material, there is no getting around that.

I am also aware that forged wheels are MAJOR money. Take a quick look around, I am betting there is nobody on this site with forged wheels.

I have forged wheels and so does anyone else who has the oem SRT's. The SRT replicas only wiegh 4 more pounds than the oem SRT's.
