Performance upgrades for 5.7

Hi Guys,

Just got a 2006 5.7, has pretty low miles on it and is in good condition. It seems pretty fast but really doesnt have the punch that I would like off the line. Can anyone give me a view as to the best things to do to get what I am after. I am planning on swapping the main muffler for a sports as soon as I can.

Re: Performance upgrades for 5.7

Diablo or Superchips Tuner with a custom tune. Exhaust, Intake is a start.

Look at the vendors on the homepage, as well as searching. There is alot of info if you search.

The hemi has alot of opportunity

Cam, headers and a good tune.

IMO you will not notice much difference in performance with other bolt-ons.

Re: Performance upgrades for 5.7

Ther are no headers for the 5.7, and custom built ones would cost an arm a a leg for all the labor involved. A tuner will help this, and also improve mpg; Off the line speed should be the secondary concern these days; the quickest way to drain your wallet with the already thirsty 5.7.

Diablo Predator or Trinity w/ CMR Tune, Bwoody 4" Intaks, Arrington CAI or Airaid and even a AFE Intake, Exhaust, Headers, Cams, etc...etc!

srt8 headers will work on a 5.7. You just have to weld different flanges to them. I believe at least one of the places that makes these will happily do that for you to get your business.
