Shorty Headers for the 3.7?

http://products.jbaheaders.com/detai...V.asp?id=1930S

http://products.jbaheaders.com/detai...asp?id=1930SJS

http://products.jbaheaders.com/detai...asp?id=1930SJT

Anyone know if/why these wouldn't bolt up to the 3.7 in the GC? I know that and the Liberty have the same motor, is it the placement and mounting design that would block these form fitting under the 3.7 hood? If not anyone know of any headers for the 3.7? Trying to get this thing to sound a little better and I cant find a muffler that really doesn't sound ricey imo. Anyone have a clip of a flowmaster on their 3.7? Thanks for any help/suggestions.

Hmmmmm. very interesting. If it is true they might even have something for us 4.7 guys too. Guess we will have to wait and see. I shot them an email to.

Re: Shorty Headers for the 3.7?

These won't fit on the Jeeps due to the unibody design (as opposed to a frame)

I dont know about the 3.7 or the Gen 1 4.7, but I've held a Gen 2 4.7 exh manifold in my hand and there is a TON of material that could easily be ported out......If you're really hellbent on re-working the OEM exhaust, get a set of junkyard 3.7 manifolds and see what they are like inside. Assuming they are worth modifying, I could re-work them for you, or if you have the skills and the tools you could port the manifolds yourself.

Check your PM's.

Depending on who you speak to, they're gonna tell you not to bother because it's a 3.7 V6 and because it's a Jeep. Nobody wants to mess with these things. See if you can find a pic of a 3.7 manifold, or some junkers, then get some gaskets from the dealer and I can confirm for you whether or not they are worth messing with. I just got some confirmation that the 4.7 manifolds have some material worth removing, and the 3.7 is a modified version of the 3.7 so I would expect it to be very similiar.

Will do for sure. Ill keep you posted when I grab a pair. For the record, nothing is worth anything to anyone who doesnt want to do something lol, shit if I liked a VW Beatle and was creative Id mod it haha.

Gotta love when people tell you its not worth it, like I want to waste my time and money haha. Gotta experiment though
