Re: springs

I don't know how much Scott paid for his shocks, but Just for Jeeps has them for 646.40

http://www.justforjeeps.com/srshab.html

and Chrysler parts direct has them for $600.60

http://www.chryslerpartsdirect.com/
search for an 06 or newere JGC in the Replacement Parts section then either go to Front Suspension->Suspension Components->Shock Absorber or Rear Suspension->Suspension Components->Shock Absorber. Unfortunately I have no idea what shipping is on this site.

Has anyone found these shocks for less?

What are dealers charging for these? The MSRP that CPD lists? If so, that's $770....much savings to be had online.

Re: springs

IMO buying used is the way to go on this subject. I see alot of srt owners upgrading there stock springs and shox and selling them fairly cheap. Right after I bought my eibachs I saw a set of slightly used stock srt springs on ebay sell for less than 100$

Re: springs

My neighbors son just made a call to some racing parts store near me and they will sell me the Bilstein shocks for $98 a piece. Is that good? That price is supposedly what the shop gets them for w/out mark up.

Or do I need to buy a kit? Some person that towed my jeep one day said theres a way to get it lowered by taking something out near my springs. Not sure what the name is. He brought up that subject because when he was tieing down my jeep with these chains, it brought my jeep down 3 inches. lol looked awesome.

No way. To lower your car properly and have it ride properly you need to buy different springs at the least and diff shocks. I see Honda's driving around me all the time where they obviously cut the stock springs, but they are scraping the ground and are bouncing around like crazy over bumps. From my understanding lowering springs are just that, they are more compressed so the car sits lower but the compression rate is higher than stock to handle the movement. The only way your going to lower your car for "cheap" money is if you did what I did and bought a used set of lowering springs.

I got the srt eibachs which is going the correct way to do it but left the stock shocks in and already blew a front strut. Now i drive slower over bumps and im saving for the proper struts and rear shocks. Point is you will mess up your car if you dont do it right and will cost you more in the long run from breaking things.
