Re: springs

well id like to get it at least as low as an srt. kinda keep the price around the same. i know when you lower it the ride gets firmer which is ok but not to firm like a log wagon

Re: springs

eibach and H&R sell WK lowering springs. you get about 1.3-1.5.

a few here have used srt8 lowering springs, no other changes, but I think this may be really rough on the WK shocks as srt8 have shorter shocks. they used bwoody. see tom@mhp in the vendor area for these.

the ultimate would be all SRT8 plus srt8 lowering springs. scott has this. it can be costly as the srt8 shocks cannot be bought new except from the dealer. or used in salvage if you get lucky.

Re: springs

I just installed Eibachs in my WK about 3 weekends ago. I am 99% sure they are the srt Eibachs. The reason im not 100% sure is I bought them used from someone on here when I listed a want to buy thread. He said he bought them used but never installed. They came shipped with no paperwork or part numbers on them. But the drop is awesome, 31" from level ground to bottom of fender right above the wheel.

The ride IMO is great, very tight. It seems to stick to the road over bumps. seems to only travel up once then settles right away. Cornering is great also, as to be expected lowering it. Little to no body roll. I did however already blow my front passenger strut, but I believe thats due to me not paying attention and going 65 over highway construction where it felt like I bottomed out pretty bad. The rears bottom out on me all the time, but thats because I didnt cut away some of the bump stops which I will do this weekend, taking about 1-1.5" off to allow more travel back there. And scott sent me a set of WK struts already I will be popping in this weekend.

Even though I already blew a strut I luv them, and realize now I have to be careful driving with these springs in, and im assuming any lowering spring. If I were you I would post a want to buy thread for lowering springs, and search around for a set. I paid about $140 shipped for mine, and installed them on a saturday in my driveway with my cousins help.

You think im kidding? Fill it with alot of full page color pictures and do detailed write-ups. Kinda like the Haynes manual. Include all the basics too to work on it. Prob do research on wranglers and commanders too. That would def sell some copies. You know everyone on this site would of already bought it if you had one.

I have yet to see a WK manual in auto stores. My 94 GC manual had so much use it was duct taped to keep it together i used it so much.

Re: springs

I would like to lower my jeep on my 1999 Grand Cherokee. Like 2 inches the most.
Could I do that by taking something out near my springs? Or impossible?
Or do I need to buy a kit? Some person that towed my jeep one day said theres a way to get it lowered by taking something out near my springs. Not sure what the name is. He brought up that subject because when he was tieing down my jeep with these chains, it brought my jeep down 3 inches. lol looked awesome.
