Re: srt8 rear sway bar on 5.7

Installed the bar on my 2007 Overland today. Amazing difference.

One question...does the sway go over or under the brake lines? I really should have noticed when removing the old one but didn't. I installed it over the lines because it looked like it was right.

I second guessed myself on that after I had it in too. I'll check on which one I settled with but I know I put it on one way, wasnt sure, put it on the other, looked even more wrong, so went back to the other way. I should have recommended to take a pic of the old one on before it comes off!
Glad to see your enjoying the results tho

My stock sway bar appears to be over the brake lines.

Re: srt8 rear sway bar on 5.7

Thanks TB. I was pretty sure that's the way it went.

Mod was well worth the money. Took about an hour and a half and the Jeep rides like a sports car.

What else do you have done to it, or just the rear sway bar? This is on my list of mods to do, got the volt HID kit instead this week but just told its on back order, so i should of bought the sway bar first instead.

Nothing else. Just bought the Jeep a few weeks ago. Traded in a 2002 WJ Limited that I bought new. It had 152k on it and needed a heater core. Saw this Overland and fell in love.

I'm not real big on mods. I'll put Bilsteins on when it's due. I probably won't do anything else.

Thats awesome, you have to admit the WK is so much nicer and better than the WJ, just saying. I went from a 94 GC Limited to my 05 WK Laredo and its night and day, how it drives, just sitting in it. Its like it went from a truck to driving a car now. Last year when I was looking for a newer Jeep I was planning on getting a WJ because of my budget and I really liked them, but stumbled upon an unreal deal on this WK so scooped it up.

So how does it drive different now, I have the srt8 eibach lowering springs and instantly noticed hardly any body roll on highway on and off ramps. There is also alot less travel up and down so it sticks to the road much better. The one thing I still notice though is going over bumps on the highway the rear will seem to kick out and almost throw me in the other lane on the "hop" I call it. You think this sway bar will fix that? At times its scarey at high speeds.

And I never did any mods to my previous vehicles, only stereo system when I was in highschool. Until I bought my WK oct of 08, came across another Jeep website and that gave me the itch to make mine set apart from the hundreds of other WKs I see driving dailey. Now its an addiction and stare at my car thinking whats next that I can do to it.

Good luck, modding is fun I realized, almost like a hobby.
