Re: Superchips Torque management 4.7

You now have the ability to basically customize your transmission shift schedules (shift points) and trans TQ management (Shift firmness) in part throttle as well as WOT to work specifically with the mods you have, I.E. Oversized tires for example.

Since it may take more tq to turn those tires and get them up to speed you now have the ability to push the shift point to a higher RPM in any pedal position and have the next gear come in at the RPM you need rather than bog until it gets to the powerband necessary to keep them moving.

That's just one example of what this feature offers users. And each vehicle can now be customized to each person rather than a generic engineered tune.

Scott, so if i'm running the GasXsaver program on my jeep can I also run the upgraded tranny program the same time or is only one program at a time?

Re: Superchips Torque management 4.7

The advanced trans tuning feature works with any program we offer including our mileage tune.

Re: Superchips Torque management 4.7

mmm can say that I think my jeep is a different truck entirely! Shifts are amazing. Running the advanced 87 oct tune on my 4.7L.

On topic of suprchips...Scott is there a fan setting to bump the electric fan down to match the 180* tstat I installed? Another member here made a comment that made perfect sense. The stock is still going to turn on when it gets hot enough, which in stop and go traffic in 90* weather with the AC blasting in a black jeep made it climb to that point for a little bit then it cooled down to the 180* area on the gauge.

Or do I need to do some work to get this setup properly via wiring/relay changing?

Re: Superchips Torque management 4.7

It's gonna be hard for me to determine the sweet spot in your vehicle is honestly. Try having it come on a little bit before or after the t-stat opens and see which one cools the cooling system down the quickest for you.

K... but HOW do you change it on the 4.7L... I couldn't seem to find the option on my superchips unit... or is this something that is on the truck itself?

Re: Superchips Torque management 4.7

On mine if you go under advanced tune, there is an option called "fan settings". You can set the temperature for high medium and low fan speeds. I don't have a 180 stat, but i lowered all three settings about 5-10 degrees, and the temp guage definently stayed below what it normally is at.

Also if anyone gets their shift schedule just right, please share. I'm having a hell of a time, I bounced it off the rev limiter between 1st and 2nd gear at WOT. That was scary.

Re: Superchips Torque management 4.7

Ive actually just used the superchips settings and It feels great to me. I hardly WOT, and shifts are smoother and better placed than stock... BUT when i do.. omfg its waaaaaaaaay better shifting.

Hmm...why don't I see these options on mine?
