Re: Thinking about this intake

Why does a simple thermoplastic tube cost $200, when I can by a Blu-ray DVD player that is 1000 times more complex for the same price??
think of the work that goes into both... are all all suckers because we keep paying those UNREASONABLE prices.....

Re: Thinking about this intake

Juan, I think its all set on market value. I can go buy a dual stainless steel full exhaust set-up for a Mustang cheaper than buying a single full exhaust set-up for my WK. Now why is that, with the WK single exhaust im getting much less material, but compaired to Mustangs hardly any WK owners upgrade to SS exhausts. I bet almost everyone who bought an aftermarket CAI for a WK is on this site, which is minimal. Where as other highly modded cars there is a bigger market.

Re: Thinking about this intake

You contacted the manufacturer directly? Im not sure they would even sell you one. Like with my Magnaflow exhaust, I bought it offline from a vendor but they shipped it directly from the Magnaflow factory.

no I sent Air_Ram (a supporting vendor for JG) a PM as he does online price matching and free shipping. I would rather have my money go to a supporting vendor then to this random website. BUT, if I dont hear back by next week ill probably just order it from this website

I here ya. I would of expected a PM back the next day. Did you try going to a local big auto parts store and checking out the "universal" CAI kits? There are auto stores near me that sell the polished metal tubes, elbows, silicone fittings, and cone type air filters. They are pretty low in cost and would give the same result. It would just take a little planning to piece it together right.

Re: Thinking about this intake

Is there any major advantage to a CAI running straight to the TB? I was going to get a K&N but if the Airaid's better b/c of this fact then I'd like to know so I can buy the best available. Thanks!

Re: Thinking about this intake

that was kind of my question as well. I feel like the box doesnt do anything but make the intake quieter. Not sure though

Re: Thinking about this intake

ok sorry to bring this thread back up again but since I am getting my TB ported I figured its time for me to get an intake.

What would you choose:

AirAid 310-205 or the K&N 57-1545???

I found both of them for around 250 but i would like to hear your opinion on them.

Thanks

Re: Thinking about this intake

If the AirRaid uses a dry filter, I'd go with that. Oiled filters FTL.

I think they both use an oiled filter...

Have you looked into if a HEMI intake would fit onto a 3.7? Just an idea
