Hello, We've sold over 3500 kits for the Jeep Wrangler JK - and reliability has always been our main objective... The notion that a Turbo is safer than a supercharger couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, is a turbo were to fail you're less likely to be-able to drive is if at all.
A supercharger is belt driven, should the compressor fail (which is not likely) you simply remove the belt and install the stock one. Or should you have to remove it all together, you can still run it normally. A turbo is very complex and much more intrusive. In fact is shares oiling with the engine, if the turbo were to fail, bits of metal can (and will) run through your engine and could cause irreversible failure.
