Re: Today's Project - PVC CAI

I reconnected that hose to my new intake (PVC).

You can buy a mini breather filter to cap off where the hose goes.

hemi.jon did this.

Re: Today's Project - PVC CAI

Ok Irf, I think I see. I just need to cut a hole the right size for the hose to go into the PVC I've already got there correct? Just want to make sure before I go cutting holes in the wrong places haha

Is this an option in place of putting the hose in my PVC pipe? I think I saw tiny filters at Advance.

Re: Today's Project - PVC CAI

yeah or you can do like matt said. buy one of those mini filters and throw that on.. look at matt's pvc intake thread he added a hole to his pvc and added the hose... the size of the hole will depend on the size of the pvc

Re: Today's Project - PVC CAI

Another thing about the heatshield before I leave - does the K&N require that you remove the entire stock filter box or should I leave that bottom part in there? Ok, I'll be back soon.

Re: Today's Project - PVC CAI

If you remove the stock airbox, you can elbow down to the fender and have a true cai like I did for my 4.7. Although right now for the winter time I have mine in about the same location as yours. Superchips tells me that with the filter in the same location as yours it's intake temp is reading whatever the outdoor ambient temp is at 20 mph or higher. Now in the summer time when I had the filter much much lower in the engine bay I would get ambient air temps as my intake temp at idle on a 85 degree day.
