It will be more than sufficient. Melting may be a problem if it is in very close proximity to anything. I never ran into any issues over 4 years, but at one point at a Etown race with mario, my white tube was glowing orange.

I know you're 17 and on a budget, but I beg you, please either wrap the PVC or ditch the setup altogether and make yourself a design out of Spectre bends or something. You don't want people rediculing you for using sh*tter pipe for an intake.
I'll try to find a better way to keep the hose on the PVC than the duct tape. I've ordered my DEi header wrap to keep the heat out and make it look less ghetto.

New video from inside the car with the windows up. Sorry it's so short, it was hard to keep it floored driving through a neighborhood. I'll replace it with a better one another time but for now it gives you a general idea of how the exhaust sounds with this CAI installed.

It's not quite finished. Still need to put the header wrap over it once that arrives. Then it won't stick out like a sore thumb.

I love it. Sounds and feels less and less like a 3.7 with every mod to the engine and exhaust and there's still much more air flow on the way once I sign up for Ryan's ported/polished TBs and some Thunderbolt universal high flow cats in a while.

Re: Today's Project - PVC CAI

The DEi wrap came in today. Also got my dual 4' fiberglass antennas in ($23 from eBay!) and I'll get to work fabbing up some brackets for them. Need to save up for a CB and PA ASAP!
