Re: Video of Magnaflow ack on my 3.7.

I cant wait to get this srt exhaust on and see what it sounds like. Im thinking it will def be more "throaty" since im deleting the muffler. Other than that I have no clue what to expect it to sound like.

Only reason I bought this srt set-up was for the dual pipes that go over the axle, since I heard they are kinda hard to fab up without hitting, and got it at a cheap price. I would be up for deleting these big ass resinators also. For the price of polished tips alone is what I spent on this srt set-up.

They are in my livingroom still, awaiting to be installed. I just took that video clip of my Magnaflow before I take it off so people can kinda get an idea what it sounds like.

Re: Video of Magnaflow ack on my 3.7.

So talking resinators, what exactly do they do and how do they work? I have seen a cut away of my Magnaflow muffler, where its just straight tubing with holes in it surrounded by some type of packing material to "muffle" the exhaust, what does a resinator look like inside? Im just trying to get an understanding of them.

Honestly because of the major price difference I would just get either a Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler and a nice polished tip and leave the pipes stock to save alot of money. The price of a bolt on Stainless Steel catback system is insane looking at it now.

I'll try and do a clip of my car actually going down the street, which sounds much better.

Re: Video of Magnaflow ack on my 3.7.

Cool man, and yeah thats what I had already planned to do, I just want the sound and could care less about the small if any performance gain of a cat back anyhow. I am still trying to find a shop that can pull off dual tips like Marlin and keep the spare in there for now too!

Well then your prob talking alot of money for what Marlin did. Thats all custom work and takes alot of planning and materials. Before I got my srt setup I was thinking about tapping off the tail pipe after the axle and putting a 90 degree pipe to send another pipe over to the drivers side. But since I got these srt rep rims my spare tire is useless to me, so I took it out anyways. Ill keep this magnaflow cat back for when I get rid of my WK down the road to change it back to stock and put the spare back, thats unless I sell my magnaflow to someone that will send me there stock set-up to put back on later.

so you're saying instead of getting the whole thing just get a muffler and a polished tip? if you have an intake that won't make a difference? i am about to get an intake/exhaust so i wanted to see my options

Re: Video of Magnaflow catback on my 3.7.

I have the K&N CAI also i got installed at the same time, I think intake and exhaust go hand in hand to get the best performance. I say just get a straight thru muffler and a nice tip because of what i spent alone on the whole catback system, $427, I could of bought just a nice muffler for about $80 and tip and got almost the same results. When I first got my WK I just went to walmart and bought a $10 stainless steel tip that slides over the tailpipe which looked 100% better than the stock look. Just replacing the big ass stock muffler with a nice small aftermarket will give you great results IMO.
