Re: Video of Magnaflow catback on my 3.7.

Im just saying for the cost of a whole stainless steel catback system you can buy a nice muffler, tip, and CAI for the same cost. The stock pipes arent stainless so you might have to replace them later on down the road, but just replace them with cheap aluminumized steel again and wont cost alot. Me, im frugal so I like to stretch my dollar for the most I can get.

Well, here's my 2 cents about it. I do like the K&N CAI but I notice im cleaning the dam thing every 2 months, so maybe look for a dry filter. Just dont get the intake where you use the same stock airbox, get a cone type filter and a new plenum tube and that will be plenty big enough to get air to the motor. As far as mufflers, I dont know alot but to narrow it down for you i would def go with a stainless steel so it lasts you the life of the car, I would also look for a straight thru design rather than the chambered ones, like Magnaflow or Dynamax or even Pypes has straight thru. Dont waste money on a polished stainless muffler since no one will ever see it for the price difference. Im looking thru the Jegs catalog I have and can pick out a few mufflers I would look into trying, all of them stainless and for under $73.00. As for a new tip, i've seen them on ebay for like 30 bucks plus shipping, OR, do what I did at first and get the walmart polished tip for 10 bucks.

Like i said earlier, yea your keeping your stock pipes and will prob have to replace some things down the road but its much cheaper than a full SS catback system. Me, I had money to burn so i didnt care and wanted a system i'll never have to replace hopefully, but now look what im doing, installing the srt system instead so I wasted my money on this magnaflow catback. Oh well, live and learn right?

I have the same magnaflow too and love it, you can usually get a used one on ebay or cragislist. I wanted a valid warranty so I got it here. Magnaflow 16632. Also some of the forum sponsors usually have a sale going on. Either way its a great exhaust system, sounds great, and very easy to install.

Thats about the price i've seen them for. I got mine off hotexhaust.com for $427 shipped, paid $50 for a shop to install it but never bothered sending in the warranty card. So far so good, though I noticed some slight rusting/discoloration at the welds. Maybe its just oxidation. There's really not alot of catbacks for 3.7's to pick from, so Magnaflow seemed the best IMO, and very happy with it. Just been busy with work and trying to move lately havent justified spending the $100 or so to have this srt set-up installed yet, im cheap.
