Bro, what happened that one time? Did you have a bad experience or something? It's ok if you don't want to answer that, just curious since the track has been nothing but a positive experience every time I go. Heck a bad day at the track is better than a good day at work (not really ).
If one of this days you're in my neck of the woods I'll bring you to Etown as my guest .

Holy sh!t bro! That's crazy... . You definitely had a bad experience, I don't blame you now for not wanting to go back. My offer still stand any time you are in my neck of the woods so we can hit Etown (It's a bit more peaceful than what you describe and lot's of security).

I just found this, it appears this guy ran a 16.1 with just a magnaflow catback, he has a k&n drop in but since its not a full intake I doubt that made any difference. It doesnt say what temp he ran it in but it says on the net it was in the 30's in NJ on that day from this it seems like I should have no problems getting into the mid 15's with the mod's I listed especially with a throttle body, 08 manifold, and superchip.

This is the hemi 1/4 mile info, they have it at 15.1 here.

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

Do you guys turn off the EPS/traction control when running your Jeeps? I noticed my Jeep seems so much snappier off a stop light with EPS turned off, even in partial. I know it switches to partial EPS when above 35mph (I think).

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

You can get SCT tuner, cat back, 08 intake manifold, CAI, throttle body, cams, stall, gears and you will be in the 14's. You wont get there on a few bolt ons alone, well I don't think so anyway.

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

Is the 08' intake worth it? Has anyone done this mod. IM afraid labor prices will kill me, I think the intake setup is in the $400 range which seems like a lot for 20hp and thats not including labor prices.

Thanks for the links, I also found on out 1/4 mile thread this post from Mike... He's running 15.7 with minimal mods...
Top 1/4 Mile Times

Start dumping those mods in there, start taking it to the track and see what works and what doesn't. The right combination of mods will get you there.
BTW, I'm a believer that the 3" exhaust will not make you loose any torque if you pick the right muffler. And in case you'll loose some I'm sure you'll gain it on the top end.

Yes I always turned off ESP with the 5.7 and with the SRT as well. I always got better results with it off.

I have to agree that to get to the 14s he might need to get to the motor and and cams etc...

I think Ryan (Sleepy4.7) got great results swapping to the new manifold. He's the 4.7L guru, he might be able to give you good advice on what works and what doesn't to get you there.

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

You can do the intake swap yourself. It is not hard to do and these new intakes have O ring seals and not the old style gaskets that could cause allot of issues if installed incorrectly. Most everything is 10mm or 12mm on the intake.

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

Ritchie is the 4.7 guru....sorry...but Ryan has done nothing to his motor.

The 08 intake on an 05-07 is totally different than doing it on a 99-04. The egr is in the way on the 05-07...so you will need an egr block off and sct tune or relocate the egr. Simple...but not simple.....

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

and exactly what i listed above willl get you in the 14's...I know...I did it. same exact setup ran around a 14.6-7 according to superchips....and that was running a superchips 91 tune. in my mind...thats good enough for me. Run a custon sct tune and you should be a little better.

In my opinion, Richie is like the 4.7L God and Ryan still a pretty good guru . That I can't take away from him.
Even thou Ryan has not gone into his motor, I know he has done a lot of homework for years on the 4.7Ls when it comes to heads, cams, TBs, intake manifolds, SCT tuning, etc...
Now Richie has done ALL that as well PLUS all the forced induction end of it. PLUS God knows what else when it comes to the 4.7Ls...

To the OP, you can't go wrong for talking to both of those guys if you need to learn a lot more about the 4.7L motor.
Ohh yeah, talk to Richie and he'll taught you to go with a Supercharger, talk to Ryan and he'll sell you a throttle body .
