Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

I was in my friends 02 4.7 H.O and from the butt dyno it feels damn FAST. The transmission shifts definatley feel better even though theyre the same! My WK doesnt pull until 4,000rpm then its like nitrous kicked in. 17sec is pretty depressing lol

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

Yeah the old intakes were a PITA I put one on my 351c and it was a pain to get the gaskets lined up. The EGR thing is what im afraid of, I seen on Air-Ram's site that they say 06-07 need to move the EGR but im assuming they meant to say 05-07? So either way if I wanted an intake I would have to get a Superchip first to allow me to run it.

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

anybody can do homework...but till youve actually put all that homework into an engine...its just that. Just my opinion...and I know it counts for nothing cause I havent went to a silly track. So...big deal...someone goes to a track and runs high 15's and 16's and that makes them a guru. Not in my book.... Richie has the blood, sweat, tears, cuts, bruises etc etc from actually tearing a 4.7 apart. That in my book far outweighs reading and repeating crap on the internet. Like the ported TB's thing...anyone with any knowledge and know how...KNOWS that a ported TB on a stock motor does absolutely nothing. yet BS is spewed about how great they are. /end rant

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

What kind of power can the the stock engine and trans handle? I have 2 years left on my powertrain warranty and I would really like to keep it from going void which is why I want to avoid touching the cam, well that and it's just way out of my price range now to have a cam put in. I know on my crappy v6 145HP Mustang I went through 2 engines but the 2nd one was a head gasket issue the first one was due to trying to always race my brothers 300+HP 4.6 GT like 2 weeks after I got it..I lost every time go figure or maybe it was because the car turned out to be a rental car with 65k miles from Buffalo NY, I guess both factors worked against me. Im assuming the 4.7 is a strong engine but I really dont want to mess it up. =D I think we need a writeup and pics on the 08' intake install for the 05-07 WK someone? please! haha

I have done it...you just need to remove the egr for the manifold to fit. theres no problems with the windshield cowl or anything. Contact ritchie about relocating the egr. Youll need a relocation kit.

Cool, is a lot involved with switching out the manifold and EGR? I'd do a superchip first anyway so I think I could just remove the EGR. From what I can tell I can leave the coil plugs and most of the stuff connected it looks like I would just have to remove the intake hose, throttle body, EGR, and unbolt the intake, lay the new one down, bolt it on and replace the throttle body and adapter kit. I dont see too much in the way of removing it at a glance other than a few vacum hoses and stuff that plug right into the intake. It seems like an easy job that I could handle but I know looks can be deceiving sometimes but for the 30HP they claim....

Re: What would it take to get under 15sec in the 1/4 mile?

theres more to it than that...the coils, fuelrails and all sensors in that area must be removed. You may also want to loosen the alt and let it fold down so not have to squeeze the manifold in. You need more than the manifold as well...you need the tb adapter and such from airram. Youll also need an sct or custom tune if you just remove the egr.

I just pulled the injectors with the rail and moved it to the side
