4.7 owner here.

Look forward to seeing what Comp Cams come out with; although with the SC, CAI, 3" Hi-Flow CAT + exhaust it does haul ass!

Re: Why do I like the 4.7L engine?

Great Read. Its nice to hear some good words. It makes me love my 4.7 that much more. I hear people all the time say it cant work or its too under powered or small and no fun to drive. My 4.7 with a bastard Intake, and cat back exhaust throws myself and my friends in the back of the seat. Maybe not as much as a hemi but its still got the balls to go from highway ramp speeds of 30mph, put the pedal down and get up to 80 fast enough to cut off on coming traffic and merge across 5 lanes of travel. I love my 4.7 and maybe one day i can mod it enough to see what it can really do.

Re: Why do I like the 4.7L engine?

I own both a 4.7L HO (04 WJ) and a 5.7L HEMI (07 WK). Both are a blast to drive. However there's really no comparison between the two stock engines in terms of HP & torque. As for building up the 4.7L into a HEMI slaying beast? If you spent the same sort of money building up a 5.7L HEMI, there would still be no comparison. The age old adages about there being no replacement for displacement and how fast you want to go/how much you want to spend, still hold true today. Both are great engines, as is the Ford 4.6L, I own one of those too.
