Wj Jeep performance ducting?

Hey all I have a 00 wj with a 4.7 under the hood and I have a few questions when it comes to air intakes and ducting.

Currently when it comes to air intakes I have a air raid jr kit.

For those of you who do not what that kit is here's an explanation.

The kit consists of a new down pipe and and upgraded air filter. Simple as that (gets rid of the restrictive box in front of the throttle body)

So my idea is simple. What if I take the top off my current air box and run ducting through the hood?

If I am able to seal the current air box to the underside of my hood and get a scoop or a vent cut out and made ABOVE where this is located would I be able to pull the coldest air possible? I don't really care if I cut up and mess up my hood because my WJ is my weekend fun car.

My main concern is debris and water getting in my motor. How do I get around this?

So that's why I am picking your guys brains for ideas.

It it means I need to get a new or complete air intake to do this that's fine.

So shoot me your ideas! Any little bit of info helps so post anything!!

Thanks guys

-Mikey
