A few questions regarding HIDs (Sorry if they've been asked)

I just joined the forums here. I own a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee. After browsing through several HID related threads, it seems like the consensus is that you guys are the way to go for upgrading to HIDs. I have a couple questions regarding them. I am new to the world of HIDs, so I apologize in advanced if these have been answered before.

Will any "Projector Style" headlight work with your HID kits, or are is there a certain type of projector-style headlight I need? I know that HIDs in stock reflector housings is a big no-no, so I want to do everything the right way.

What all will need to be done to install one of your HID kits? Will I need to splice any wires, or does everything just plug together?

Is a relay necessary? If I use a relay, I will need to run a wire to the battery, correct? Does your kit include this wire?

What all will I need to complete the installation (wires, connectors, etc.)?

Which kit would you recommend? Ideally, I would like the light to be white, with possibly a very slight hint of blue.

I apologize if these questions have been asked before. As I mentioned above, I don't really know a whole lot about HIDs. This was originally intended to be a private message, but due to my low post count from being new, I was unable to send it.

Re: A few questions regarding HIDs (Sorry if they've been asked)

How To: 6k HID's Lows/Fogs on an 08 WK

Here is a how to for my 08 WK...same premise so this should help. Mine are in halogen housings and I have no issues, but others will tell you not to. Just make sure they are aimed properly. Hope that helps.

I have 6k...nice blue hue in my opinion...4300k is a clear white and 5k are a little less blue than my 6k...don't go over 6k as you will lose output and will look ricer!!

Another question: What would I wire the LEDs/Halos to? I don't think my Jeep has DRLs.

Re: A few questions regarding HIDs (Sorry if they've been asked)

1) Since you're a WJ owner you'll probably want more help from a fellow WJ owner. A lot of the owner's that have HiD setups roll with what's known as the Gen III Projectors. They currently offer the best output out of the available models on Ebay.

2) If you want a slight hint of blue then most would say a 6K kit would fit your needs. without compromising light output.

3) Here's a small write-up I did tailored for the WJ. The different projectors are shown as well.

Thanks for the info. I was looking at HID kits on Xenon-Depot's site. Does it matter which bulbs to get? It asks for me to select them from a drop-down, but I couldn't figure out which ones would fit with the Gen3 projectors.

It's the name as OEM, They use a 9006 for the low beam and 9005 for high. I wouldn't bother with the high-beam as it's not practical.
