Hey guys,

Looking to finally make a purchase from you for my 07 Cadillac STS. I want to go with the 4300k Phillips bulbs for my low beams and I was considering the 4300k volt kit for my fogs.

My question is would I notice a color difference in the two different kits and bulbs? How would it look? I want it to look complete and matched but if I could save a few bucks on the volt kit, I'm definitely interested!

Also, I noticed a new coupon code being recommended a few posts above, should I use "JG" or "moparhid" to make sure I get all the harnesses and everything I need?

Thanks!
Chris

This was installed in a 2004 Lexus GX470, it went from stock halogen to Xtreme HID kit with Philips 4300K bulbs.

Take a look at the comparison thread we posted, comparing the Philips 4300K and 5000K HID bulbs:

4300K VS 5000K HID Color Temperature Comparison

Chris,

No you would not notice a difference between the Volt and Xtreme HID kit as they both use the same XenonDepot bulbs. The only time you would notice a difference is if you go with Philips 4300K with the Xtreme HID kit.

As for the coupon code, do you know if you will need a Canbus fix for your STS?

Re: Exclusive Pricing on XenonDepot.com HID Kits - Save Big!

That is exactly what I was considering doing, going with the Xtreme with the Phillips 4300k bulbs for my low beams, and the 4300k volt kit in my fogs. Is there a noticeable/unappealing difference in the two colors?

Also, I do not know if there is a need for a canbus fix on the STS, I will do some cadillac forum searching and see what I can come up with!

Thanks for the response!

The Philips 4300K bulbs will be whiter once they color shift to 4700K after 100 hours.

No problem,
Danny

No the 5000K would not have a significant color shift as the 4300K Philips bulbs do.

So would you recommend spending the extra $$ and matching my fogs to my low beams? Can you really notice a 400k color shift?? Do you have any pictures that I could see of the difference?

Also, is it really worth spending the extra for the Phillips bulbs or would the regular bulbs be just fine? I'm not trying to spend money where I don't need to, but I do want to be sure that I am getting the best parts I can since I have to remove my entire front bumper to replace bulbs in my car! (Not something I really want to do more than once if I can help it!)

Thanks for the help!

The Philips 4300K would be whiter after they get to 4700K. You don't need to get the Philips brand bulbs for either of the HID kits, to have the same color you could go with the the XenonDepot HID bulbs on both the Xtreme and Volt HID kits.

Honestly you can't go wrong with either option, the XenonDepot HID bulbs do still use the Philips UX quartz glass as one of their key components. You are paying a little more for the brand name with the Philips bulbs.

Here is great looking 5000K XenonDepot Xtreme HID kit installed in a 2012 Toyota Camry. The top picture you can see the difference in color between the 5000K (drivers side) and factory light (passenger side)

The 5000K puts out a nice white light as seen from the projector lense.

Our kits are all plug and play so installation is a breeze. Use your forum coupon code to save an extra $25 off and get free shipping to the lower 48 states and Canada on all HID kits!
