I bought these Black Reps from wheelman011971 on ebay a little while ago and the rims were beautiful on the outside (face of the rim). So what I did when I recieved the rims from the seller, I opened the box and looked at all the rims. The faces looked great! No issues, so I put the rims back into storage until the installer had an appointment for me. So that Friday I had them installed and after the installer put the tires on the Jeep, I noticed that on the back of 1 rim, they were not painted properly. So now I'm ****ed because to dismount them it will be another 48 bucks (I paid 48 per rim to have them mounted and balanced). I contact the seller and I told him about the issue and he said I can send a call tag and send a new one. I said no I couldnt do that because I would have to pay to have it dismounted and that since it is on the inside of the rim, it cant be seen and I would like to have some money refunded (100 is what I was expecting. Not a big deal IMO) to me via paypal. So a couple of weeks later I send him the pictures (when I got the pics for him I discovered it was on another rim as well, so 2 in total) but I notice that its on another rim as well! So I contact him again and send him the pictures. And this is his response:
"First of all NO manufacture in the world pays for any labor charges for warranty claims. Second you should have returned the wheels before you mounted the tires on the wheels and none of this would have been an issue. Third it seems to me that what ever paint you say is thin in an area is on the backside of the wheel which you can't see anyway, but if you think it is a warranty situation you will have to take the the tires off the wheels & ship them back to me. Once we get the wheels back inspect them then we will ship you new ones. We will pay the freight on the wheels going back to you but you have to pay the freight getting them to us. Again, if you would have sent them back before you put thee tires on them none of this would have been a problem."
And my reply to him:
"First of all I didnt notice the issue with the rims until they were placed on the tires, otherwise I would have told the man not to put them on. Secondly, the point is that while you cant see the issue when the wheel is placed on the wheels should have never left your factory like this, and I shouldnt have to eat the mounting and dismounting costs because of your product that has issues. I took the rims in the box and handed them to the installer, all I checked when I got the rims was the face of them because who would think that a manufacturer would paint the front of the rim beautifully but paint the back of the rim half assed? Then you expect me to pay for shipping back to you? Are you insane?! Now I will send you the pictures to your email if you give me the address and if you dont want to settle this with me, I will go on all the forums that I am a member of which include: jeepgarage.org which I was a co-owner of, cherokeesrt8.com, jeepsunlimited.com, jeepforum.com, lxforums.com and all of the other ones that I am a member of that are not automotive and I will make a post about how you are being unreasonable and that no one should buy rims from you.
And btw if you dont believe me about what it cost me to get the rims installed, you can call up Final Touch in West New York, New Jersey and ask yourself."
So after 4 days of no response, I am here now venting my frustration.
Here are the pics I sent:
Now I know the issue is on the inside but I didnt pay 778 dollars for rims that are not painted correctly.
Anyways, dont buy any rims from Wheelman011971 on ebay!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW: Thanks to Atilla for the pics.
