Re: Sea Foam Treatment

I've Seafoamed every car I've had and I've never had a smoke show like the Hemi put out the other day. Did the gas and oil last weekend, brake booster on Wednesday. WOW! Not sure if the low temp thermostat cause all the buildup or the previous owners maintenance, but MAN what a cloud. I wish I got a video! It was bad enough that while I was still feeding it in, the cloud started rolling. 20 minutes later I literally smoked out the whole block driving off.

Do you know how an oil filter works?

At a certain point it goes to bypass mode (FRAM and other cheapos will do that after a few hundred miles believe it or not)

So your right.. it doesn't matter... it'll go to bypass mode when its ready or not. Will it hurt the engine... unlikely, all engines will have this happen at some point. Having 8k on an oil change didn't do anything and the oil wasn't burnt or nasty looking or feeling or had an particulates that were visible to the naked eye.

Re: Sea Foam Treatment

No experience w/ Sea Foam in Jeeps, but I use it regularly in my boat engine. It is fantastic in that the idle is smoother, starts much easier, runs very smoothly. I use a bottle every other tank (20 gal tank).

Re: Sea Foam Treatment

Agreed. Who knew the 4.0 engine needed to be run at over 3K rpm every now and then?

There's a spray version available for injecting into a vacuum line that cured a low speed stumble on first application. The gas additive hopefully prevents it from coming back for the next owner of the ZJ.
