2011 to 2014 front swap.

Its official. I have dedicated myself to changing the front end of my 2011 overland to a 2014. Just ordered my 2014 grill. Which is not easy to find cheap. I'll update when I start swapping parts.

Re: 2011 to 2014 front swap.

Just a quick Update. Now have almost all the parts ordered.
Upper Bumper, Lower bumper, Lower Fascia, Fascia Cover, Grill Inserts,
Tow Hook covers(temp till i get the Hooks)
Only things left are the Fog Lights(still up in the air about altitude or chrome)
and the little faring pieces on the bottom of the bumper left and right.
I might have an Ebay addiction.

Everything is going to be blacked out except chrome mesh grill and body colored bumper pieces. pretty much like the picture.

Re: 2011 to 2014 front swap.

Chrome plastic can be painted if you can find a competent shop that will do it. I was unwilling to pay the exorbitant prices for black plastic - hence I had mine painted(7 chrome grille rings and the fog light surrounds - $70).

Re: 2011 to 2014 front swap.

I've received almost all my parts now to start the painting and fitting of the front end, except the bumper cover came with a nice dent right in the middle that was not going to come out, bummer. I have them sending me a replacement so now I have to wait on that. I think i'm going to get my chrome grill rings powder coated and potentially my rear chrome hatch piece and chrome mirrors and my rims. I have to get it all priced out first though.

I've got almost everything now. Including an extra dented bumper if anyone is interested. Only things left are my fog lights and the little filler pieces that go on the front bumper. Also i have to get my paint.

Re: 2011 to 2014 front swap.

So a 14 grill will fit a >13 model.. I've thought about doing the same change as I think that grill will be easier for me to get a bumper designed around. I have a 12 Laredo.

Re: 2011 to 2014 front swap.

Do the headlights lights have to be new as well? Or will the grill fit with 2012 headlights?

Re: 2011 to 2014 front swap.

The grill only will fit the 11-13 jeeps if you swap all the bumpers and lights. After I'm done i will put up a list of everything i needed. Not sure if the actual foam impact piece behind the front bumper fits or not as well as any brackets and fasteners that hold everything together. The bottom splash shield probably wont work either but i will figure that out when i try to put the front on.

Re: 2011 to 2014 front swap.
