Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee wind deflector

Was thinking of doing the same; did you go ahead and install yourself?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee wind deflector

If you are meaning the bonnet protector then here are a few tips

1) lay a sheet over the engine bay so that when you drop the screws, washers and little plastic plugs (and you will) the can be easily found again,
2) The rubber shield on the bonnet ( above the air intake) needs to be peeled awau easily ... do on a warm day ... to expose the plug holes
3) Start screwing from the centre out
4) make sure you push the protector up to engage the lugs on the plastic plugs or the plugs will just spin
5) The 2014 model needs to have the plastic cut away slightly in the middle to fit around the hood latch ... test fit and mark out .... use a dremel to cut the plastic .... If you dont do this then the protector will rub on the grille facia.

I painted mine black ..... paint the back side ....NOT the front

Good luck

Nice rig but it would like ten times better with that aerial on the rear

#1 is a v.good point!...dropped a screw which fell onto a grey pebbled driveway...took me ages and a lot if cursing to find it in between the stones.

I've bought the OEM bonnet protector for the 2014. I decided not to go ahead with fitting it as I wasn't convinced that the thin anti-abrasion pads would prevent the metal clips from rubbing through onto the paintwork over time.
I'm just looking if I can buy thicker 3M pads.

Well you're right to think they are too thin.
Wife somehow broke the bonnet protector, so I took it off to find that the clips had rubbed through onto the paint.

Tahlee, is your one a Mopar? From what you detailed it seems different to the Mopar one I installed.
