2015 Jeep Cherokee North

Just bought a 2015 Jeep Cherokee North (similar to Lattitude) . It has the stop-start technology to improve gas mileage.

I hate it.

How do I permanently deactivate it ?

I don't have this, but I did have it in a rental car when I was in Ireland and there was a button to disable it. I would read thru the manual and see if you can disable

That button only disables it temporarily. Next time you start the car up it needs to be pressed again.
I was hoping to remove the feature all together or even reverse the logic (ie: press button to activate it instead of turn it temporarily off.)

Re: 2015 Jeep Cherokee North

I'm not familiar with the North (or Lattitude) but I'm assuming you have the UConnect system in it. I don't think you can turn it completely off but you can set the delay long enough that it would be unlikely to kick on. I'm not at home so I can't go through the menus to give you detailed instructions, but if you go into vehicle settings there is a delay setting for the auto-off feature. I know you can set it to at least 5 min before it will shut off. Hopefully you won't run into any stop lights or traffic where you are sitting that long!
