Re: Angel eyes, work in progress

Congratulations man! It's not an easy task to complete a set of angel eyes. I also see you closed them up exactly like I did with mine. Silicone all over the place . Doesen't look that good. But it's better to be safe than sorry.

if anyone is interested, the reason you dont want to use silicone is that it is NOT heat pliable like the original glue. therefore it will be near impossible to open again.

to do it right, use 3M Window weld ribbon, get the 1/4 inch and you may need to stretch it a bit to make it fit in the channel. theni heated it up with the haetgun adnthen put it all back together using a band clamp and a few spring ones on the edges. I clamped it tight then applied more heat to flow the glue.

now if I ever need to open them again, i start off just like factory........

Re: Angel eyes, work in progress

damn Rob that is a great idea, so you just pretty much melted the weld ribbon onto the edge of the headlight? like all the way around and yea eh that would work great now that i think about it..

maybe i will go see if i can get some of that because that sounds like a great idea i should have asked before i did any messy working

thanks for all the compliments! its been a lot of work but yes, i have to be safe rather then sorry..

i will be sure to post up pictures of when they are in and lit up, hopefully this weekend, so stay tuned guys!

Frankie, thanks for all the supplies, i used just about all of it haha, but yea its been a work in progress since the day they arrived that is for sure, every day i have been adding little more and little more of the glue and just anything to keep them sealed up, i think ill use rob's idea and try that out, it sounds flawless!

Haha chris exactly what i was thinking, i just sealed them up and NOW you want me to remove the orange reflector haha, i thought about it before, i took them out and was like hey, i should do something with this lol, but i figured hey i dont need any fancy tinting or anything, i like the original look, keeps the simple look,

srt8 reps on a meaty all terrain tire scott, seriously? how would the tire look mounted on a what is it, 20 inch rim? haha that would be rediculous, i like it!

Hehehe....yea best visual mod you can get, but a real PITA.
Have seen a few ppl simply tint the amber reflector part on the outside....so it's something minor and in my opinion not worth re opening your headlights for.
Make sure to post some pics when installed.....will look awsome!

Re: Angel eyes, work in progress

After a total of 4 hours of work with my friend, removing the front bumper, and wiringing everything up to perfection with no chance of mixing up or cuttin any wire, ( slow and steady ) I am happy to announce that the angel eyes are installed, and are by far a great visual modification that I am glad I went with!

I does not has pictures right now, as I am out at a friends party and on my
iPhone, but will have pictures as soon as I can!
