Before I order XenonDepot Volt HID kit

I have a 2007 Commander Limited and I wanted to put 6000k HID low beams in it. I have read that the projection is often messed up due to the housing and bulb not being a good match for each other. Does the Commander typically work fine with the conversion? I don't want to be blinding people and putting them in danger simply because I found some cool lights...

Thanks!

Let me first say that the lows/fogs HID's mod is one of the top 5 I have done...and it should have been my first. I do get flashed about 1/20 cars but I live in a hilly area so I am always coming at people in different angles that head-on on flat ground. There is scatter, but these things are so bright that the main issue is that they are BRIGHT. I have had many friends drive in fron of me in different scenarios and they say it is just bright. You just need to make sure you have a good cut off and it is low enough but provides enough illumination. This thread is all u really need to read about the kit and install, but this is for a wk and the housings are similar in nature but not the same. So hopefully you can get an exact answer...but a must-do mod IMO.

I had them on my jeep for one day and i felt bad for others. I took them out and bought projectors. Now there is a defined cut off and the light stays on the road. Im not to familiar with the commander, but if they make projectors get them...... You will get much more usable light from a projector. Hids in halogen will be lighting up the trees over the road instead of just the road. Eliminate scatter by having a projector lens. I have had hids in both housings, there is no comparison.

I recommend the Volt kit...one because Xenondepot is a trusted vendor here and hundreds of other sites and two i have ONLY used Xenondepot products in my vehicles. Plus you can get $25 off or free relay harnesses if you buy the Xenondepot kit here.

I've had HIDs in halogen housings and thought it was cool but after I retrofitted projectors, I'll never own an auto without HID projectors again. That's my word.

^^ no doubt it is better, hence they are on all cars $70k plus...I just don't want to spend the $400-1000 to get custom ones done. I was in love with Robp's quad bad boys he did...those were amazing!

And volt kit for sure...check my feedback/install thread...going STRONG for 2 years now

@Sanders0492:

1) I know you mentioned 6000k, but have you considered a 5K or 4.3K setup? Are you leaning more towards looks than brightness?

2) Definitely go with XenonDepot. Back in the day I used to run a 55w 4500k setup in my stock WJ lights. I hardly ever was flashed because I tried to aim them as low as possible and I stuck to an appropriate color as not to mess with peoples eyes. The quality of the seller is of the utmost importance.

3) For anyone who runs the Xtreme kit from XenonDepot, Do they still you use those bulky a** ballasts that are big as f***?

XenonDepot or Morimoto is what I would recommend.

I have D1S bulbs fitted with a H1 base. They are bright as hell.
